Boracay
A four-kilometer island in Aklan Province whose White Beach became a global destination before a 2018 government-ordered rehabilitation closed it for six months. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources maintains a carrying-capacity limit, and the island draws over two million visitors a year. Fee collection and port management were digitised in 2025 to reduce long queues at the Caticlan jetty.

Movement through central areas is slow — expect to dodge and wait. Lines at major sights routinely exceed 1–2 hours without pre-booking. Iconic views are difficult to photograph without crowds in frame. Local residents have publicly raised concerns about visitor volume.
